Wear purple and walk to school to remember the courage of Ruby Bridges.
When: Your morning commute to school What: A day to walk to school
Walk with purpose! Celebrate the courage and legacy of Ruby Bridges, who, at just 6 years old, became the first Black student to attend an all-white elementary school in New Orleans in 1960. Her brave steps changed history and continue to inspire us today.
On this day, students are encouraged to wear purple and walk to school as a symbol of unity, remembrance, and resilience. Bring an encouraging sign, or carry a message of kindness in your heart to celebrate Ruby!
