The date changes each year. This year its October 20, 2025. However, it is celebrated for five days beginning October 18th.
What Is Diwali:
Diwali is India’s biggest holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay
lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.
Who celebrates Diwali:
Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs.
What do kids do on Diwali:
Kids light candles, make flower garlands, sand art (rangoli), light fireworks, and eat lots of different food, especially sweets!
